Born and raised in New York City, Ariel Ione Williams graduated with a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2015 where she majored in Photography and the Digital Image with a minor in Art History studies. Her practice incorporates experimental and traditional photography reflecting the artists deepest instincts. Caring more for the dream of art than a complete, singular and self-contained creation, every photograph paves a way to another new beginning. Her work is an investigation of self through metaphorical platforms and poetic means to explore photography as a symbolic mirror. By unearthing inner states, she pushes the boundaries and intentions of relationships and associations between subjects and objects. Williams carefully selects a point of view to create a space used as an environment of reflection whose aim is to understand a recollection of hours (ranging from a multitude of sensations and experiences). These visual records act as a memoir while at the same time being a play with imaginative narration.
